Location planning: measure competition before opening

Competitive density, average ratings, white spots: the data before the lease.

The problem

Opening a business without measuring local competition is gambling your capital. Traditional market studies cost thousands and are a quarter old on delivery.

The workflow

  1. Count competitors per area: facets facet_by=postal_code on your category and target department.
  2. Compare densities: relate counts to the population of the towns you consider.
  3. Fine geo search: lat/lng/radius_km=5 around each candidate location.
  4. Analyze quality: min_rating / max_rating reveal areas with vulnerable competition.
